Would the Flintstones use cell phones?

Everyone who has seen Flintstones cartoons knows they often use primitive means to depict modern technology. I would ume they have a version of cell phones in Bedrock, how would that technology work? It wouldn't be practical to have birds flying between people's phones to relay a conversation.
