Whats a professional way to say you were basically a day laborer?

my last few jobs, i was basically a slave for a masonry company. i mixed the mortar, hauled block around, put up stone on the outside of a house, painting the interior of a house and whatnot. im going to look for another job in the retail or food service industry and need to make these things sound professional. im not sure how to put it, what do you think?
